Hommage is our tribute to the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and to the lesser-known varieties of the Southern Rhône that make those wines so intriguing. A bright garnet in color, the nose is wonderfully aromatic, with strawberry, red raspberry, cherry, pepper and violets, along with a warm, earthy minerality.
On the palate, it is simply delicious. The sassy little Counoise, pretty and savory, is definitely the star of the show. Cinsault joins in with its lovely perfume and bright red-fruit character, while cherry, cranberry and red berries mingle with white pepper and herbs. Grenache and Syrah round things out, giving the wine a little more depth and a long, memorable finish.
I suggest this wine be shared. After all, isn't this what wine is all about?
